CD ROM Not Responding

Many computer users receive messages informing them that they their CDROMS are not responding from time to time. This usually happens when the user has inserted a CD into their CD drive. The CD rom not responding message helps the computer tell the user that their CD cannot be opened. This type of file is important as it notifies the user that they cannot that particular CD on their computer, the user will be informed that there is something wrong with their system and this will help them act on it.

There are several reasons that could lead a user to get a CD rom not responding message. Some computer system users do not clean their CDROMS from time to time. This could leads to the accumulations of dirt, which could make the CDROM not respond accordingly when a CD is inserted into it. It is advisable for one to clean their CD drive heads using good CD cleaner. When a CDROM fails to respond, the connection between the drive and the drive manager might be the cause. In such a situation, it is advisable for the user to try to uninstall these drivers then reboot and let the system reinstall the relevant drivers afresh. This could help solve the problem with the CDROM. If one does not know much about computer hardware, they could consult websites that contain information about computers for information on hardware. Additionally, they could have a professional solve the problem for them.

Sometimes the cd rom not responding problem could be caused by the hardware itself. One can find out if the problem is hardware related by checking the BIOS system. If the drive cannot be seen in DOS, then the problem lies with the hardware. Poor wiring can also make one encounter problems when trying to read data via the CDROM. One should check to find out if they have the correct wiring done. If this is the case, one could solve this problem by acquiring an external drive. Another reason that could lead to a cd rom not responding message could be the registry. One should try to restore the system registry to a previously successful state. This could help deal with the problem. Apart from the sources mentioned above, CD ROM problems could result from errors in the system. It is advisable to also scan one’s system to search out errors and subsequently remove them.
