SCO Com Port not responding is a message usually displayed when the system cannot access hardware devices connected on the SCO com port. This could be modems and other networking devices that use this port. Once this message is displayed, getting the devices to work could be a tiresome task if the right diagnosis is not made.

The first thing to check is whether the relevant SCO Com drivers are up to date. Drivers ensure that the virtual communication between the system and other physical devices flows well. Malfunctioning drivers or those that have been altered with hinder efficient contact and communication between devices.

On modems, the SCO com port not responding message is usually seen when the modem cannot be accessed by the system. Persistent trials at accessing it may lead to processor overwork and the consequent system ‘freezing’. Any user command at such a time especially using the mouse gives back the same non-responsive message. The only thing that the user can do to reboot the system is use the task manager to shutdown the non responding program. Some users claim that particular products such as Digi board modems have problems working with the SCO com port. To check if this is the case, the user should check the for background processes that may be running on the SCO port.

Viruses could also be another cause of the SCO Com port not responding message. Like all Malware does, it affects the file registry and alters the codes of software running in the system. If the drivers of the SCO com port have been affected, any attempt to access the devices connected to the system will yield the non-responsive message. If one is using different applications that use the SCO port, the same problem may be appear. This is because the applications all compete for the same attention from the port. The processor has to take turns accessing the resources needed for the performance of each application.

The SCO Com port not responding message may also be seen where the programming errors affect the ports therefore interfering with their performance. In other cases, a trigger from the user can send programs that use the SCO com port can send the program in an endless loop. When the system fails to respond to all the spin of demands being placed on the processor, then the machine hangs and displays the message indicating that the port is not responding.

Rnaapp is used for Dialup Networking activities within an office. It is a Microsoft corporation product and it transfers one’s personal files to Microsoft while online. Rnaapp is related to remote access.

In some instances, Rnaapp fails to respond. This may be due to the type of operating system installed in a computer system. While using older versions such as Windows 95, one experiences these failures. The solution to this is regular Microsoft downloads as well as installations of Rnaapp.

When a computer has a modern operating system and still experiences Rnaapp not responding, this means there is some hitches within the modem. In such situations, one follows the following procedures. The first step is pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE keys. This will display the task manager and one ends the task named Remote Network Access Application (RNAAPP). In case the program is not listed in the task manager display, one should cold boot the computer.

Upon booting the system, one presses the above keys again and when Rnaapp program appears again, one should remove all items from startup since that is the cause of problem. This is done from MSCONFIG Window. The next entails clicking start, settings, control panel and lastly modems. At this point, one queries the modem about the problem. One continues with the process only when the modem responds. One follows guidelines offered the modem to correct Rnaapp not responding.

Other causes of Rnaapp not responding within a PC range from virus occurrence to occurrence of errors within the systems registry. The most common causing agent includes error occurrence within the registry. System’s registry is very important as it controls all functions of operating system. It also registers all operations taking place within the operating system. Registry models differ with type of operating system installed within a PC.

For example, a registry belonging to a Windows service pack 11 operating system is different from registry found in Linux operating system. Errors lodged within the registry leads to Rnaapp response failure. This is due to clogging up of system’s registry. Apart from errors, other factors behind a clogged registry include presence of uninstalled software segments as well as orphaned programs. These elements reduce the operating speed culminating to general system slowdown.

Solution to this entails running various registry scan programs, which include RegCure, register booster as well as registry, scan. They remove errors and boost the system’s memory. By following the above directives, one should not experience Rnaapp not responding.

Many offices and homes would be stranded without printers. Printers help people in printing communication documents such as letters, memos contracts and so on. Some people use printers to print photos as well. However, there times when printers fail to work as required. During such occasions, the user receives the printer not responding message.

Printers may fail to work when a number of devices which are very active share the same USB Root Hub as the printer. This usually causes the streaming of data to be interrupted (shared requests of IRQ) as well as the receiving load to be timed out. The device then looses sync. This causes it to hang and one will need to reset it.

Data inputs belonging to the device that the USB port is driving can pull peaks of more peak current than the USB port can handle. This can cause the printer to hang as well. If such a situation occurs the user should get a USB hub that is externally powered, that has its own power supply between the printer and the USB port. Attaching one’s print drivers to inappropriate ports can lead to the printer not responding message as well. Configuring printer drivers can help solve the problem. Sharing bandwidth may also cause the printer not to work as well. It is advisable for the user to check their security settings of their wireless router.

Some people fail to connect their printers to computers directly and this may cause the printer not responding message. One should make sure that the cable connection between their computer and printer is done directly and correctly through a USB hub. A print job that stalled in the queue for printing may cause problems in the printer as well. It is advisable for the user to clear any printing jobs in the queue before proceeding with the printing. In some Windows, print jobs fail to start printing if the queue for printing is paused or is set to Use Printer Offline.

If several printers are configured to be used by one computer, the printer one is using may fail to work as the user may not have configured it to be the default printer of the windows being used. One should check to see if their printer is configured in the correct manner to avoid the printer not responding response. They should also check for active software in the background that might impede communication between the printer and computer.

When one cites the message PowerPoint not responding, it is bound to result in much disappointment especially if one was in the middle of a life changing presentation. However, one need not despair as the problem could easily be brought under control. This can be done by following a series of simple steps to help trouble shoot and rectify the problem.

The presence of a PowerPoint not responding signal could be an indicator of a failure in the program’s drivers one of which could suffer a defect. Furthermore it could also have been set off by an error arising out of the program’s incompatibility with the application. Another possible causing the lack of response could be the use of wrong commands or instructions that the application finds invalid. Attacks by viruses or other high risk objects could be responsible for the problem hence the application’s inability to function optimally.

The reaction to PowerPoint not responding is usually expected to follow a certain routine. This should be based on the possible causal error. One should try to review the commands being used or change the format of pictures they are using for the slide shows. Another option will be to scan the system for any threats that could be subjecting the system to a security risk and causing the PowerPoint malfunction.

General guidelines require that one try to retrieve the documents being worked on by using the Recover Application option. This should be able to save some of the work being worked upon. In the eventuality that this possibility fails to retrieve anything or the work is not of much significance then only one option remains. One should proceed to close the program by clicking on End Application. In this case any recent changes made to the document will most definitely be lost. Sometimes one’s hands will be tied to this option especially when the not responding message is followed by the report that the application has malfunctioned and will be closed by Windows. One should also consider sending details of the error to Microsoft for future analysis and action.

Although the alert, PowerPoint not responding could be unsettling, one must maintain their cool. This is because any rushed steps or decisions could result in one making a wrong move that may create a bigger problem that the one causing PowerPoint errors. If all the troubleshooting options are unable to solve the problem then one should contact a professional or the Microsoft Support Website.

Occasionally, computer users often encounter the PC not responding problem. One cause of this problem is having the wrong processor in one’s computer. Another cause of the problem is using zone alarm in a computer that does not have enough memory to support both Windows and zone alarm.

The cables connection could also be the cause for one’s PC not to work as required. Errors have been known to cause problems in people’s systems as well and the PC is one of the parts of the computer that are usually affected. Generally, the PC settings, memory and CPU of many computers suffer performance related problems, which cause it to be sluggish and ultimately lead to the PC not responding problem. This problem can also be brought about by viruses or malware that could have corrupted the system. The connection of the power switch and the mother board also matters and could lead to a problem if the connection is poor.

When users remove or add programs, their systems files scatter through out their hard drives and this usually leads to the PC not responding problem. Malicious AdWare and SpyWare, which are tiny programs running in the backgrounds of people’s PC, usually monitor the user’s moves and hence make the systems slow.

Using the correct processor in one’s computer can help one prevent their PC from refusing to respond to commands given to it. One should also make sure the memory they have in their computer can handle both the zone alarm and Windows as well. Using the correct cables and making sure they are well connected can help one’s PC work as required. It is highly recommended that users run free registry scans through their computer from time to time to remove any errors in the registry that occur when people add or remove programs. It is also advisable for one to run a free performance scan through their computer, as this will help to counter the PC not responding problem.

One should also use anti viruses in their computers to check and remove any viruses and malware that can cause problems in the PC. Running a disk defragmenter through the system can help to deal with fragmentation in the PC. A Scan can help to remove any AdWare or SpyWare that could be causing problems in the PC. Finally, one should give their PC maintenance services frequently.

Normally this error occurs in web browsers and internet sites. When a page does not respond, it may mean a number of things like the internet connection being faulty, to the web pages having constant errors. When this happens, there are a few things one can do to solve this problem.

If one is using Microsoft Internet Explorer for browsing, and the program stalls and shows the page not responding at the top of the explorer window, it is more than likely that whatever one was working one will be lost and one will start again but it is not advisable to do so as the program maybe faulty again. It could be the internet connection that is making the program to run slowly. If so, check for the internet connection and know what is wrong with the connection if one can open the browser but cannot access the internet site in which he or she wishes to access. Check the DNS server settings and the network connection. Also check for firewall and proxy settings which may be preventing the browser from accessing the site.

If the connections are wired properly and one still gets the page not responding error, then try the following. The next thing that one should do if still he or she cannot get the program to work, where it starts up briefly and closes at once and it says it has to close because of a system error, the memory might be low or a file is corrupt or it is missing. One should try restarting the system to clear the memory and then open the program by itself after restarting the system. If this problem persists, disable all add-ons as they may be the cause of the slow running of the program. Next try resetting the Internet Explorer settings and reset it to when it was first installed in the system. Note that with the resetting of the Internet Explorer to default settings, some web pages might not work properly because of their reliance on stored form data, cookies, add-ons, etc but the page not responding error will be gone.

Removal of malicious software and viruses can also be effective as it may be the reason to the program slow process. Download the Malicious Software Removal Tool from the net. Try also upgrading the Internet Explorer from the Microsoft website as this helps to correct the problem by replacing old files that happen to be out-of-date and also fixing vulnerabilities. If the page not responding error recurs, a professional should be contacted.

My computer not responding is an error message most users get now and then and still cannot immediately fathom the reasons. The user could be on Windows XP and when the user right clicks on a drive in the computer or enters Ctl-Alt-Del, the Task Manager indicates that the computer is not working properly and therefore displays a my computer not responding error message.

It is advisable to check with the News Group of Microsoft to check this problem out. The user might have been using Spy Sweeper, AVG, Ad-Ware, and Xoftspy for quite awhile without experiencing any problems. After confirming that the machine either has software or hardware problem, the next step would be to remove all the problematic software, run all the spyware, defrag and start in the safe mode. When one is through and is still on this mode, drive icons will quickly show up as well as the classic.

It is possible to experience problems when users get the computer not responding message in different odd ways. A user can experience a situation whereby he can browse different folders and files but once he accesses “My Computer”, the window used to access it ceases to respond. The problem may be strange considering nothing like new installations could have triggered it. Another way to get rid of the my computer not responding error is starting the computer on safe mode. The best assumption is that windows explorer operates better on safe mode hence the problem must be triggered by something else which uses the normal mode to load.

With a machine that is dual boot, and both operating systems are XP one could be used for recording and working on music, no connection to the internet or running updates, while the other one is used to do anything else. The latter operating system freezes occasionally when attempting to access “My Computer” or a hard drive. It also freezes when trying to shut down windows. Each time it freezes, users should visit the Task Manager and reset the machine. After rebooting, the machine should go back to normal.

When the machine locks up and users enter ctl-alt-del, they find the windows explorer is unresponsive hence requiring a reboot. If the locking up is consistent, users can try to install and run AVG, Adaware, track eraser and cwshredder. Other options are rebooting to the safe mode and running SFC. Users can reboot to dos mode or resort to reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling windows 98.

Msgsrv32 is a process that is started by Microsoft ME and Windows 9x and it acts as a Windows 32-bit message server running in the background and performing background support and functionalities. Msgsrv32 will not appear on the task manager process tab when the program is running normally.

It is responsible in ensuring windows drivers are loaded at startup and runs the explorer.exe shell program. It also ensures the integrity of windows files after a setup program is run. If windows files have been overwritten in the process, it restores them to their original formats. At logon it is responsible for displaying the logon dialog box and playing the system startup & shutdown sounds.

Sometimes, when the computer is left to run idle for a period of time, it may hang and a dialog box appears reporting that msgsrv32 not responding. Sometimes, this behavior is experienced in systems that have the power management option enabled. As a result of this, some programs will stop responding when they are given power management commands. One example of programs that cause these errors when left idle is screen savers. To resolve the problem, quit all running programs and disable the power management feature. Instead, allow windows to manage power on the local machine as opposed to networked systems.

Being a generic windows process, msgsrv32 will usually be called by a number of applications. Thus an msgsrv32 not responding error means an application accessing the program has failed. Checking the event logs will usually alert one to program that is responsible for that error message. If information has not been saved lately, the appearance of the ‘msgsrv32 not responding’ report will mean losing data currently being on in some instances.

Msgsrv32 errors may also be caused by resource conflicts or TSR programs running in the computer memory. Disabling these programs from running at startup will usually resolve the problem. Assigning unique addresses to resources will also enable the operating system to identify each resource distinctly. A failing hardware may also bring about the msgsrv32 not responding message. In such a case, testing each component via the device manager will likely reveal the culprit. Computer viruses and Trojans residing in the main memory are also known to cause the ‘msgsrv32 not responding’ message. An updated anti-virus program can help to remove malware causing the errors. If the above solutions fail, then performing a system restore or reinstalling windows will usually be the last option.

Movie maker is video creation and editing software that comes bundled with the windows operating system. The application contains effects, transitions, credits and timeline narration features among others. Improved versions of the software have incorporated more features. It is even possible to modify transitions using XML code.

Movie maker can only handle exported videos that come in windows media formats or in the digital video AVI format. The use of the digital video format and the ability to make highly customized video presentations requires the addition of many capabilities to the application. While this is a good thing, it can however cause the application to hang or not to respond to inputs from the user, therefore giving a movie maker not responding error.

Some of the common problems with the movie maker involve the available memory. When a file size that is larger than the available RAM is opened in the movie maker window, the application may slow down and eventually give a movie maker not responding error. This mostly happens when saving the file. To work around this problem, reduce the movie file size or the movie setting size to a small high quality size. Alternatively, one can increase the size of the paging file so that the application uses a fast memory location located on the hard disk rather than the already consumed RAM. To reduce the complexity of the timeline or the storyboard, the number of individual clips can be reduced by cutting the entire movie into sections that will eat up less space during editing.

The movie maker application is able to access a DV device directly and capture saved content or live video. It may give a movie maker not responding error when the device cannot be contacted during playback or recording. DV devices can be connected to the computer using a number of ports. Some can be connected via firewire ports, USB or via a capture card. While these modes have varying levels of versatility, they can however cause the system to hang. Problems of hanging usually occur when there is a port conflict between two devices and the port addresses have not been given distinct addresses. Assigning the ports unique addresses will usually solve this problem. Other movie maker not responding errors may be caused by obsolete direct x files and incompatibility issues. These problems can be resolved by downloading the latest updates and ensuring the hardware components meet the minimum specifications especially for the operating system. Movie maker problems can usually be resolved without professional help.

When the hardware not responding message appears, then the hardware may be not responding to a users command, then it could be one of several problems. One of them could be that when trying to back up data to a hard drive that is local, the error indicates the running out space on the drive.

The destination drive will need its disk space freed, to be able to complete the backup process successfully. The scheme ‘Most recent full’ gives access to the options for backup storage by using the destination tab. These options will allow the user to manage the backup space amounts well.

Hardware parts such as keyboards and mouse have different connectors, which need to be checked. The connectors may be the smaller circular connector, which is the PS/2 or USB connector, or the serial connector, or the large circular connector, which is the DIN connector. For instance, the lights on the keyboard need to light up brightly. Various buttons like the Num lock and Caps Lock need to light on and back off again on successive pressing.

Moreover, if hardware not responding message appears, try plugging in a USB keyboard. If this works, it is important to check on the logs for errors in the event viewer. The administrative tools of the control panel will reveal these. Warnings should be focused on, although errors may appear too. It is said to help if they are arranged by time and date of modification. Also check the sources; it may be from a device that is defined as hardware. If hardware not responding, try unplugging and plugging back the keyboard and mouse when not working. They ought to be identified as the USB connections they are. If this does not work, try connecting the hardware using the MOBs PS@ ports on the computer, and also check whether any adaptors for USB to PS2 are readily available, which most Mice and USB KB come loaded. One could also try using a PS2 plugged keyboard for results.

To identify if a problem is an error related to a piece of hardware itself, try plugging it into another port. If the hardware is still not responding, try plugging it into another computer. If none of these fixes work, it could be a hardware problem, in which case someone with the requisite know how will have to run diagnostic checks to ascertain the exact cause of the problem. The piece of hardware will then either be fixed, or have to be replaced entirely.
