Internet Explorer Not Responding

Internet explorer otherwise known as Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) has been in existence since the mid-nineties when it was first introduced into the market by Microsoft. It is not an uncommon problem for one to encounter some few hitches while working with internet explorer.

Here are a few points in the right direction to hopefully help a user that bumps into problems such as freezing of windows while browsing the internet using internet explorer. It is important to note that in the case where internet explorer is not responding there could be a few likely reasons and thus a number of likely options to fix the problem. One such reason could be that the downloaded file is corrupt. Therefore, the user would be advised to uninstall the non responsive browser in add/remove programs, restart the computer and proceed to reinstall the browser by downloading a fresh copy of the file.

The second solution would be to update the anti-virus in the computer whose internet explorer is not responding. First, the user should scan for viruses on the computer. If no viruses are detected, this could mean one of two things. The initial probability would be that the anti-virus program itself is in need of an upgrade. Once the user upgrades the anti-virus software and runs a full scan test on the hard drive and no viruses are yet to be detected causing the freeze up problem in the browser, then that leaves us with the second option. That the anti-virus program is functional and that the problem extends beyond this scope.

The most common reason why internet explorer is not responding when activated is largely due to concealed Trojan and adware files. These programs usually run concealed in the background and work to retrieve personal information in a malicious manner. The problem with these is that they always cause lethargy on the computer system. The user should thus install spyware remover, because some of these programs are spyware applications introduced to gather users’ valuable information. Anti-spyware could be able to detect the presence of such programs. Other likely reasons when internet explorer is non responsive can be attributed to large amounts of temporary internet files exceeding ninety six MB. Otherwise, the system might just be running at overload and requires to clear the traffic for things to run smoothly again. It is therefore important to have all the bases covered in order to have this problem fixed.
